Never Mind The Ballistics Bath Bomb first made its appearance as part of the Christmas range in 2016 and will be back for Christmas 2017 (YAY!). Unlike any other bath bombs available in store at the time, half of the sphere was coated in a cocoa butter melt. Think of it like a strawberry dipped in melting chocolate and left to harden. The fact that it is a ballistic and bath melt (oil) in one makes my multi-purposing heart incredibly happy!
It was the first bath bomb of the range to catch my attention. I love simplicity and bold, bright colours and NTMB was it. It is the strongest smelling of all the bath bombs and because I adore being bowled over by scent, I was smitten at first sniff! It falls under the fruity category of fragrances but thankfully it is not another zesty citrus or berry rendition. Truth be told, if I had read the ingredients list before I’d seen it, I wouldn’t have given it any of my time as I am not one for banana scents but although it contains a whole fresh banana, its so expertly combined with the other ingredients, its pure, gorgeous fruitiness!
You see, I am not fond of the orange-melt cousin Over and Over (I know I’m in the absolute minority and possibly the only human being who doesn’t enjoy it!) as it is predominantly lime and undoubtedly so. So, lime and banana in one bath bomb and yet its in my top ten of all time? How can this be so? Olibanum, lovelies. You can throw cow dung at me but if its mixed with olibanum, I’d smother myself in it and be as happy as a pig in sh..! The lime, banana and sweet wild orange oil (okay, the latter is a winner of an ingredient as well, let’s be honest!) are so complimentary and so perfectly interwoven together with GLORIOUS olibanum neatly wrapping them all up in a perfect frankincense bow, that this bath bomb can do no wrong. Not in my eyes and not in the eyes of pretty much most lushies (I’ve personally never encountered a lush lover who doesn’t enjoy the beauty that is Never Mind The Ballistics).
Upon hitting the water, this fruity beauty slowly begins to foam and froth and beautiful waves of sunshine yellow begin to disperse across the bath. What lies beneath its yellow exterior is a gorgeous shock of pink and a hint of hot orange. As the bath bomb bobs and sways, it gives off plumes of these stunning colours. As the colours mix, a vivid coral orange hue creates what looks like a hot, ombre summer’s sunset in the bath. At the same time the bath melt atop the ballistic begins to melt and you’re left with deliciously moisturising waters that smell like a tropical daydream. It’s not your typical Christmassy scent – I found its fruitiness to be perfect for our summer.
The melt is the perfect amount to leave skin conditioned and nourished without feeling greasy and after using it I found the scent lingered on my skin throughout the day.
This beauty has been confirmed for Christmas 2017 and I cannot wait to get a handful of fresh ones!
