SA Lushmas 2017 – SHOWER GELS

Lush wishes you Best Washes this Christmas with a variety of Liquid and Naked Shower gels!

Together with the usual suspects, we have two new Shower gels and one favourite (FINALLY) to add to the Christmas line up!

Happy news! All the shower gels are vegan and self-preserving (They contain none of the preservative-nasties, because, Science! And Lush are magicians :D)

Let’s get right to it:

New kid on the block this Christmas and for lovers of Plum Rain Shower Gel, I’d say this gel is the younger cousin. Fruity but not zingy (like Plum Rain), packed with cranberries and blueberries, sweet wild orange oil and bergamot oil, this one to me smells a ton like Ocean Salt facial scrub (thanks to Nicole from Lush South Africa for pointing that out!) but with a bit more fruit! Plus, its thiccccck, has lustre for daayyyssssss and such a gorgeous deep teal colour GAH!!! It’s fresh and light in comparison to the woody deep complexity of Plum Rain and I can see myself grabbing for Berry Berry on the daily! Are you ready for this Berry? ;P

Opt for the liquid version, or go naked! Not so sure about going nakey? Click here to read my post about the new Lush Naked Shower Gels.

Retail: R175 for 250g; R295 for 500g (bottled/ liquid) and R165 for 240g (naked)

What’s the festive season without a bottle (or three) o’ bubb?! With sweet wild orange oil, lime oil and grape juice this thick (my fave) shower gel is a zinger! Incredibly uplifting and a great way to start the day with this sunny citrus! This one is a staple in my (and my mom’s) household! 😀

Retail: R165 for 250g; R275 for 500g (bottled/ liquid) and R155 for 240g (naked)

She be my ultimate favourite! This fragrance is a bright, fruity and a gorgeous jammy, turkish delight, rose scent. Don’t be fooled though, it is not at all what you’d expect a Rose-inspired scent to smell like. If you’re anything like me, I’d have told you you’re mad if two years ago you’d said to me Rose Jam (the keyword here being ‘rose’) would be one of my all time favourite fragrances! A part from the obvious ingredient, rose, it contains Vanilla Pod Infusion (YASSS! One of my all time fave ingredients), Cypress Leaf Infusion, Goji Berry Juice, Argan Oil, Sicilian Lemon Oil, Geranium Oil… This jammy scent is just so yum and moreish and this is why you will always find a bottle (or three) of Rose Jam Shower Gel (And, Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner, a piece of Ro’s Argan Gourmet soap, oh and a couple Rose Jam Bubbleroons) around our house 😛

Retail: R175 for 250g; R295 for 500g (bottled/ liquid) and R165 for 240g (naked)

Christmassy spicy cola-scented goodness! Full of cinnamon, black pepper and coffee – I’d say this is the cinnamon version of Lord of Misrule Shower Cream, minus the vanilla absolute. If you liked the scent of Santa’s Baby Lip tint and Lip scrub from Christmases past (and back this year), you’ll LOVE this shower cream! I’ve found this to smell like straight up cinnamon on me but on others it leaves skin smelling beautifully and subtly sweet!! It is super thick and being a shower cream, is lovely and moisturising, more so than a shower gel. I’m so happy to see such a festive looking and smelling shower cream joining the Christmas ranks this year! YAY!

Retail: R175 for 250g; R295 for 500g (bottled/ liquid) and R165 for 240g (naked)

Strangely, last Christmas (my first Lush Christmas), I just didn’t believe in Snow Fairies… This year I CANNOT get enough!!!!! Full of bubblegummy, candyflossy, pink and sparkly goodness, it is the one scent family I’m wildly stocking up on! 😀 I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but there are times I crave a deliciously super sweet-smelling shower (or bath, but with this drought we are having, that is a thing of sparkly, candy floss dreams) and then Snow Fairy is the only thing that satisfies that craving! I’ve been trying out the naked version and am really loving the experience!!! Instead of using the entire bottle-shaped piece, I’ve cut off about a 1 centimetre thickness of it from the base so that the bottle can still stand upright nicely. I then use that piece in the shower and store it in a cleaned out Lush mask pot (a Lush face moisturiser pot will do too). There is NO waste, it lathers up a dream and is as strong smelling as the shower gel! I am completely sold on solid/naked shower gels! I’ll be trying the naked body conditioners next, so look out for that blog post, coming soon.

Do you believe in Snow Fairies? If you do, look out for a Snow Fairy themed giveaway I’ll be hosting this week that will run and included is a swag item (a t-shirt) from the Lush Creative Showcase that took place in the UK earlier this year. Which t shirt is it? You guessed it! The “I believe in snow fairies” shirt!! YAAASSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! I’ll post about it on my instagram @butdoyoulush so if you’re a believer, keep your eyes peeled 😀

Retail: R155 for 250g; R245 for 500g (bottle/liquid) and R135 for 240g (naked)

Tried the Twilight bath bomb? Loved it? Then you will LOVE this shower gel!! While you’re at it, why not indulge in the gorgeous Twilight scented Christmas exclusive bath bomb, Luxury Lush Pud! It puts on one of the prettiest bath ballistic shows Lush have every produced! Treat yo’self! 😀 Lavender and tonka-bean (smells like vanilla) collide wonderfully in this beauty, but it is not at all the herbal rendition of lavender – it is sweet and soothing and delicious smelling! I always describe the scent as that of a lavender-infused cheesecake. The shower gel is even more malty smelling than the bath bomb which I adore (thanks to benzoin resinoid!). If it was okay to, Id honestly want to drink this stuff it just smells so moreish and comforting and beautiful and… insert heart eyes and drool face emojis! To read more in-depth reviews on the scent profile or other Twilight scented products as well as a bath cocktail idea, have a look at my posts on Sleepy Body Lotion, Luxury Lush Pud Bath Ballistic and Twilight Body Spray (all available in all SA stores). Top tip: Pair any Honey I Washed The Kids/ It’s Raining Men scented (same scent family) products with Twilight for a ridiculously gorgeous bath or shower cocktail! Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb, anyone? (It’s a vegan alternative in the same scent to the Honey I Washed The Kids products).

Retail: R175 for 250g; R295 for 500g (bottled/ liquid) and R165 for 240g (naked)

  • jon - Bubbly is my absolute favourite! Your adoration for lush is met and shared by me and my boyfriend – rose jam is his favourite lush product, it brings about such nostalgic feelings centred on his late grandmother. Lush has become a way to honour our bodies, her life, and the natural way of things.17th November 2017 – 12:58 pmReplyCancel

    • kimdutoit - This is exactly the sort of thing I love to hear! Lush is exactly that for me too! Thank you for such a beautiful and illuminating comment. I really appreciate your sharing the story of what Rose Jam means to your bf – Lush really do it best when it comes to evoking nostalgic feelings with the scent profiles they choose for their products and your story is a beautiful one! All the best of luck Jon! ☘️☘️✨✨17th November 2017 – 1:40 pmReplyCancel
